Each year, European opera companies open their doors and invite their audiences to (re)discover opera during the European Opera Days on 9 May.  

In 2009, for the third edition, 58 houses in 20 countries organised open-door events and celebrated the European Year of Creativity and Innovation.

From London to Brno and Barcelona to Tallinn, audiences of all ages and backgrounds had the opportunity to experience opera through creative workshops, participative performances, presentation of contemporary works, opera screenings, open-air concerts, discussions and debates.

The next European Opera Days will take place on 8 and 9 May 2010.
